Description

The main notion of the study is to provide a brief overview about the rise of hotel sector in Oman by applying the theory of comparative advantage along with the theory of Michael porter’s diamond theory. Oman is place which is attracted by the tourist because of its beauty and heritage and that is the main reason of a rapid development in this sector. Theory of comparative advantage helps any industry to gain some potentials trade from other competitors (OECD, 2011). On the other hand Porter’s diamond theory helps to know about the competitive advantage that some industries gain because of the various aspects to them (Peng, 2009). The study will help us to get a practical applicability of these two models which will show how the hotel sector is gaining importance in the Oman market. Oman receives most of its income from the hotel industry and petroleum and oil division. The next part of the study will throw a highlight on the scenario of the hotel industry and will illustrate the use of the two models to know whether the sector has gained some profit or loss.
