Description

Organizational leadership approach enables it to establish shared values, behaviour and norms, which helps the leaders and employees in the organization to perform their activities effectively. The leadership approach of the organization influences the leaders and followers to adopt or transform beliefs, assumptions and practices of the top leaders and through the approach established the employees get the right direction. One such company, which was able to enhance its performance using this leadership approach is Daleel Petroleum LLC, which has gained significant recognition through its strong leadership and performance. Daleel Petroleum LLC is one of the leading oil producers in Sultanate of Oman. The organization has its core business in the production of oil, exploring and optimizing future reserves (Dapeco, 2014). The organization has Block oil concession to extract hydrocarbons from beneath the Daleel desert (Dapeco, 2014). The Petroleum Agreement with Government of Sultanate of Oman governs the concession, which is represented by Ministry of Oil and Gas.
Daleel Petroleum was established in 2002 when it produced 4,500 barrels per day and by 2013 it started producing 41,000 barrels per day (Dapeco, 2014). The company has been able to perform well due to the use of different strategy of horizontal water-flooding technology and gradually managed to increase the production. The organization has talented and loyal human resource and maintains high level of ethics in business and social responsibility (Dapeco, 2014). The company also has maintained good relationship with its contractors and has an ambition to achieve continued success and aim to achieve its vision for long term development and to add increased value to the nation by adding to its economy through the business. The company has around 442 employees working at different levels. Daleel applies International standards in its activities and strives to constantly improve its performance and to act in accordance with good oilfield practice. The organization proactively invests in exploration of oil reserves in order to grow its reserves base (Dapeco, 2014). For the company every stakeholder is equally important and it considers human resource as one of the important assets, which provides the organization sustained growth. This report analyses the leadership approach of Daleel Petroleum LLC against the best practice leadership approach. The report also provides the assessment of the leadership skills of the author of this report.
