In today’s world the importance of creating and executing a new idea is useful for any organization and company as it leads to a rapid development and expansion of productivity and profitability of the firm. But there are certain barriers to this path, like, lack of adequate funds, insufficient number of staffs and employees, ego-centric behavior of the workforce, fear of failure, lack of proper environment etc. The report analyses the theoretical concepts which shows that a banking environment too faces these kinds of obstacles. National Bank of Oman (NBO) recognizes that in spite of these barriers, creativity and innovation must move on. So the authority generated and translated some innovative ideas in their field in the form of ‘Ibtikar’, Internet banking, Mobile app facility etc. The report concludes with the fact that creativity and innovation helps an organization to enjoy competitive advantage and maintain its sustainability. It also recommends some suggestions which may help in exploring operations of NBO.
