Description
The work environments in the recent decades have changed enormously due to globalization. Globalization and the melting of economic and cultural barriers to doing business in different countries have led to the human resource comprising of people from varied cultural backgrounds. More often than not multicultural and multi-ethnic work teams are a necessity rather than a non-desirable outcome of internationalization of organizations. Though multi-cultural teams contribute to the functioning of the organization in terms of creating an appeal to customers with varied cultural backgrounds and also to enable the organization to have a multi-cultural outlook and focus, which it can bring about in its products and services, managing multicultural teams can have its own set of challenges to address. This paper discusses the challenges of managing multi-cultural teams and attempts to address these issues with the help of scholarly articles on the subject.
