In this contemporary world, business houses and industrialists all over the world focus and work towards achieving something different, something new of their own. Their attempts are brought out into the markets in the form of price, quality and delivery of their products. Based on the outcome of their individual performance, companies fight for their own market share. In this competitive international market, the trends of globalization, privatization, and liberalization directly affect the performance of each of these companies. Three of the main resources of companies today are men, material s and money. Out of these three, the control of material and money can be easily imitated. The management of Man or the work force on the other hand, is unique to each organization and it is of great importance that companies try to achieve a competitive advantage, in this area. Each organization consists of group of individuals who work together to achieve a common goal. These groups are often led by a pioneer, who synchronizes their individual performances into an n effective group output, which in turn results in maximum achievement of organizational goals. In this paper, we try to analyze the importance of effective leadership, decision making and how an empowered work force will strive towards better utilization of available resources.
