Description
The world has changed rapidly in the recent past. The various development and achievements in the last century has .made a huge impact on the world globally. The standard of living and the way of life has changed and is a lot different to what it is right now than what it was in the past. One such change that we are witnessing right now and is influencing the world on a large scale is the shift from collectivism to individualism. There is a rapid shift from collectivism to individualism in major parts of the world. The shift from collectivism to individualism can also be seen in the workplaces.
This report is aimed at answering the question: Is the shift from collectivism to individualism at the workplace permanent and inevitable. In order to do so, individualism and collectivism is first explained and then the various factors that are influencing the shift from collectivism to individualism in general are discussed and then factors influencing the workplace in particular are explained. From the discussions and analysis of the factors, the author then answers the questions.
